Encounter Summary:

Jeanne Hyde called Dave in the morning to relay a report of whales in San Juan Channel. Jeanne headed down to Cattle Point to scan and later reported boats out of Friday Harbor were on transients heading south in SJ Channel. Dave made it to Cattle Point by car in time to see a group of backlit females and juveniles head out of Cattle Pass. They looked like they may have made a kill north of the pass and again south of the pass.
A little while later Dave and Barbara Bender left Snug Harbor aboard Orca at 1330. Orca arrived on scene at 1415 about half way between Salmon and Hein Banks to find the T36A's and T49B's in a tight group traveling slowly southwest. T36A was traveling with a new calf (T36A3)that was probably born sometime earlier in 2015. The whales zig-zagged some but generally kept heading southwest and we left them at 1540 1-2 miles west of Hein Bank.
