Encounter Summary:

Jane Cogan called Dave at home around 0900 to report that Simon Pidcock had found a group of transients near Kelp Reef. Erin and Giles met Dave at Snug Harbor a while later and left aboard Orca. Orca arrived on scene a little south of Moresby Island at 1100 with the whales who turned out to be T35A, T35A1, T35A2, T38A and T38A1. The whales, who had been pointed north, turned northwest and began milling like they had made a kill or were feeding post kill. Gulls soon swooped up to pick up pieces.

By about 1112, the whales began traveling slowly north up the west side of Moresby Island, going on the inside of Canoe Rock, and entering Swanson Channel by about 1130. The T35A's and T38A's continued slowly north up mid-Swanson Channel and we left them mid-channel off Mouat Point on North Pender Island at 1221.
