Encounter Summary:

Ken and Dave took some guests out on a brief late afternoon encounter off the west side of San Juan Island. Ken found a small group of whales near the south end of False Bay around 1550. This was J28, J46, and J54 along with J53. J53 and J54 were playing with one another and doing a lot of splashing while J28 and J46 milled separately in the general area. There was at least one breach from one of calves.

The next closest group of whales was reported to be off South Beach and others were farther south. The J28's and J53 continued to mill off False Bay and drifted north with the tide to the north end of the bay. We left them at 1627 pointed south again loosely spread out still off False Bay.
