Encounter Summary:

I had talked to Gord Rowles at ~1500 to ask him to look from his 23rd floor apartment with the spotting scope for J's who I predicted would be somewhere south of Trial Island.  They were heard acoustically in north Haro Strait at 1030 and were likely heading west with the last of the ebb current.

He phoned me at 1540 having spotted them just south of Victoria harbour moving west towards Race Rocks.

I left Victoria Harbour at ~1600 and found them at 1618 slightly west of the Victor Hotel marker. The first group I saw was the J16's moving west in a tight group. The J22's were close by to the north west. I was able to find some of the J17's (J28 and J54) and get photos of them but the conditions were deteriorating so I decided to head back to the harbor at ~1700. It looked as though all of Jpod were there with several animals to the south that I never made it to.
