Encounter Summary:
After receiving a report of whales heading west, Tom and Jane Cogan headed out in their boat Morning Star to go search for them. They found the whales at about 1235 3 miles SSW of Sheringham Point after a search zig-zagging westerly out the Strait of Juan de Juca. Members of K and L pods were seen very spread out as they traveled northwest. The whales were difficult to photograph as they surfed and disappeared into 3-4 foot waves. Morning Star left the whales at 1333 about 3 miles SSW of Jordan River.
