Encounter Summary:

While with J pod and L87 near the Coal Docks, there was a report that a group of Ts found near Active Pass. These whales headed southeast toward Tumbo Channel. Since these whales were not far off the path of the trip home, Dave decided to drop by on the way. “Orcinus” arrived on scene around 1450 about a mile west of Tumbo Island. The T37As were in a loose group heading east toward Tumbo Channel. T37A1 was present with the rest of the family for this encounter. The encounter ended at about 1505 with the whales just getting ready to enter Tumbo Channel.
