Encounter Summary:

After receiving reports of a group of transients heading toward False Bay, Ken and Dave headed down to Snug Harbor and left aboard Chimo at 1551. Chimo got on scene of Edwards Point at 1610.The T36A's, T75B's, T75C, and T51 were milling but pointed north in a tight group about a quarter mile offshore of Edwards Point on San Juan Island. Midway into their long dives, the new calf T75B would surface quickly and zig-zag around until the rest of the whales came up. There were a lot of spyhops and several whales floated and rolled around briefly. The whales moved slowly north and offshore and we left them about a mile and a half west of Deadmans Bay heading northwest in a tight group and still in a social mood.
