Encounter Summary:

After receiving several reports of a pair of transients in the Sydney Island area, Dave headed down to Snug Harbor and left aboard Orca at 1610. Orca arrived on scene a little northwest of Mandarte Island at 1825.The young males T77A and T124C were traveling northwest together about midway between Mandarte and Gooch Islands. There was some social interacting between the two and one whale did the occasional inverted lunge near the other. Sometimes when they surfaced next to each other quickly, their still growing dorsal fins were wobbling all over the place. The pair turned north and traveled between the west end of Gooch Island and the Domville and Brethour Islands. The whales then turned northwest again into Prevost Channel and were traveling slowly northwest together when Orca left them at 1905 about a half mile northeast of Brethour Island.
